Verizon or AT&T iPhone 4? Cell Phone Repair Guys got ya covered!

The differences in the two models are small and overlooked. The main difference has more to do with the networks and internal hardware.
AT&T has been riding the iPhone wave since 2007, and it is estimated that over 80 million of the devices have been sold in the US alone. Now in 2011, AT&T is no longer the only choice consumers have. Verizon is officially debuting their own next week, and more and more sightings of the VZ iPhone have been reported.
The difference in the two models cannot be seen so much visually but instead is based on performance and features. Here’s the breakdown:
-Verizon iPhone will be the first to use CDMA technology, the one used by Verizon and Sprint here in the US. Verizon is well known for having excellent reception in even the most remote parts of the country, but the drawback is that CDMA is rarely used outside of the United States so if you plan on travelling or working elsewhere in the world, the GSM-friendly AT&T iPhone will be your only option.
-The Verizon iPhone will have a new feature that allows it to become a mobile hotspot that can connect to other wi-fi enabled devices. There will be an additional charge for using this feature. The AT&T version does not currently allow this function.
-The AT&T iPhone allows the user to connect online while being on a call. So you can surf or browse the web or look up a location on maps while continuing on the call. The Verizon model does not allow data transfer while on an active call, unless connected to wi-fi.
So there is some good and bad to each model. In general, if you are someone who has experienced shoddy coverage and endless dropped calls with AT&T, it may not seem so crazy to switch sides. Keep in mind though that Verizon is ending their unlimited data plan soon and it will become more costly to the heavy data consumers.
