New update to Apple’s hot-seller is expected to be announced at a media event in San Francisco on March 2nd. The tech world is abuzz, as usual to any Apple announcement.

Updates will include front facing camera, slimmer profile, and possible better resolution. But a recent industry insider noted that the resolution will leave many disappointed if they were expecting an improvement similar to the iPhone 4’s retina display over the 3GS.

Note doubt the news announcement is timed to grab some airtime away from the upcoming Motorola Xoom to be released by Verizon this week. Blackberry has the Playbook and LG and Vizio are also premiering new tablets in the next few months.
