After running the Registry repairing scan reinstall the Word 2010 from the setup/DVD.
Step 4
Look for the add-ins you recently installed. Try to uninstall them one by one and see if Word 2010 crashes again.
1. Open Microsoft Word 2010.
2. Click File | Options.
3. Click Add-Ins tab.
4. Click Go button next to Manage drop-down box.
5. Disable any third party add-ins installed. Uninstall the add-ins named “OfficeTab 1.22” and “Cite while You Write” if they are embedded in your MS Word program.
Step 5
Change MS Word Registry data. Some of your Registry entries can be corrupt. Some Registry entries might contain wrong information or invalid data. To fix Word 2010 crashing resolve problems with the Registry entries.
1. Click Start | Run.
2. Type RegEdit and press ENTER.
3. Locate following Registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_– USER | SOFTWARE | Microsoft | Office | 14.0 | Word
4. Right click the Data sub key, click File | Export. This shall backup this particular sub key.
5. Specify a name for the file, select location and click Save.
6. In the same manner, export and backup Options sub key.
7. Delete Data and Options Registry keys.
8. Close Registry Editor.
Step 6
Word 2010 keeps crashing due to internal settings and configurations. Run it in the safe mode to resolve this issue.
1. Click Start | All Programs | Microsoft Office | Microsoft Word 2010.
2. Press and hold Ctrl key on your keyboard for around 5-10 seconds.
